Professional Company: The Seattle Irish Dance Company is a professional performance company that books paid tours, festivals, theater performances and corporate shows. Auditions are required for the professional company; we accept new company members on an ongoing basis. Though preference is given to dancers who are able to come to company classes and rehearsals, we do keep a roster of dancers from around the region who we contact as needed. SIDC is a completely independent performance company, and is not affiliated with any TCRGs or dance schools. If you're a strong dancer who's interested in joining our quickly growing company, please consider auditioning!
Professional company Audition Process
Who we're looking for: Technically trained dancers who believe there should be “life after competition” for competitive Irish dancers; dancers that love sharing Irish dancing with an audience and connecting with lovers of Irish music and culture; dancers that enjoy being creative in order to bridge the gap between technical skill and effective, theatrical performance. There is not a competitive level required to audition - your performance style and technical ability are what matters to us.
- your best treble reel
- 16 bars of a slip jig
- 16 bars of hard shoe
Competitive style and show style are both encouraged--do what feels natural to you.
