The Seattle Irish Dance Company is more innovative, fresh, and different in their approach than most any other dance group out there.

Open Auditions

Who we're looking for:  Technically trained dancers who believe there should be “life after competition” for competitive Irish dancers; dancers that love sharing Irish dancing with an audience and connecting with lovers of Irish music and culture; dancers that enjoy being creative in order to bridge the gap between technical skill and effective, theatrical performance. There is not a competitive level required to audition - your performance style and technical ability are what matters to us.

Audition requirements:

  1.  your best treble reel
  2. 16 bars of a slip jig
  3. 16 bars of hard shoe

Competitive style and show style are both encouraged--do what feels natural to you.

In-person auditions: Please contact Claire McNellan at seattleirishdancecompany@gmail.com to arrange a time for an in-person audition with at least two members of our company. Please additionally include a short bio, including your performance, theater, dance, or music experience and whether you live in the Seattle area. We will secure 30 minutes of uninterrupted time at the Seattle Center. Your audition will be filmed.

Video auditions: Please send videos of above requirements to seattleirishdancecompany@gmail.com. Please additionally include a short bio, including your performance, theater, dance, or music experience and whether you live in the Seattle area.

If you have questions about the audition process, please contact us.

open Company Classes

In addition to a professional company, The Seattle Irish Dancers  offer a platform for dancers who want to continue dancing in a way that works best for them.

Company classes are open to everyone who has Irish danced in the past or present, regardless of dance level or school affiliation. Seattle Irish Dance Company is completely independent, and classes are not taught by a TCRG.

Folks in our open classes range from the occasional drop in student who wants a good workout, to our company members.  We welcome everyone and strive to ensure every dancer gets something out of class.

Classes are currently held on Thursday evenings and every other Sunday morning in downtown Seattle

Contact us for more information - we would love to dance with you!
